About Us

Growing up in sunny California my whole life and living in San Diego for 13 years, the coast has always been part of my life.  Living in a town famous for great surf and sand, it was only natural that when my husband Dennis and I were given the opportunity to move to the Caribbean, it was an easy decision.  Once we were settled in St. Thomas and enjoying our new home with our two dogs (Buddy and Roxy), We decided to honor the Caribbean tradition of giving our home a name.  After deciding on “Perry’s Island Dream,” the next job was to create a sign to hang on our front entrance.  Using elements from the beach (sea glass, sand and shells), I created a sign. After numerous visitors to our home commented that they too wanted a sign for their home in the states, the idea of Sea Sand Designs was formed.

After a few months of selling to local stores, word spread about my company and now 4 years later, you can find my displays in 22 locations throughout the islands.

When I am not busy collecting shells and sea glass or making sand art, I love boating to nearby islands like St. John and Jost Van Dyke on our boat called “Her Shoe Money” (or so my husband thinks!).  I always have my eye open for great sea glass or shells to add to my signs and after Dennis found a piece of 150 year old pottery, he is now hooked too.

My designs are funky, whimsical and designed to add humor and style to your home.  Most of all, they will remind you of the Caribbean where ever you live.
