Custom Logos for clients
One of the favorite aspects of my job is talking to new clients either via the web or phone through orders they have placed on the site. I love to hear from them about why they chose a specific piece, what the special occasion is and just who they are buying it for. I enjoy working one on one with them so I can get a feel for what they truly want me to create and if they have special ideas about their custom piece I am about to make. I would say that about 99.9% of the people I talk to really love me to just create something fun and cute for their order (trusting my vision) but I get very inspired to hear about motivation behind the order.
My lastest "new favorite customers" are a fabulous couple that live aboard a 50 foot sailing yacht called 5 star charters (http://www.5starsailing.com/). Hugh is the Captain and Alison is the first mate and chef. They charter their sailboat to the Virgin Islands as well as the British Virgin Islands too for honeymoon couples, groups, anniversaries, and basically for anyone who could use a nice vacation away from home out on our gorgeous waters of the Caribbean. How lucky to spend a week with them on a fabulous sailboat on the sea.
After ordering 2 special sand signs to take to their clients in Alabama, (Roll Tide Roll for a big Crimson Tide fan and an Island Boy sign), they contacted me to come up with something custom to have a give away for their charter guests. After talking to Alison a few times to get an idea of what they may want to give away, I came up with their logo for her to see. Alison decided on frames for that special gift that her clients would get when they arrived on the sailboat in their welcome basket.
We met at our Yacht Haven Grande Yacht harbor for the delivery and she dinghied Dennis and I over to her big sailboat to meet Hugh and show him the frames. Right away, we both felt like we had known this couple for years and they made us feel so welcome on their floating home. The sailboat is so nice and super big inside, we were both amazed at how much room their was.
Alison was happy to report to me this week that her first guests loved the custom frames and I am already working on another order for them to give to their speical vendors for an upcoming boat show in November. I think there vendors will be impressed that Alison and Hugh thought of such a special custom gift just for them handmade right here in the Caribbean.
If you are interested in a "once in a lifetime" sailing trip in the Caribbean with some pretty fabulous people, you can't get better than 5 star sailing charters....... but now I guess I just gave away what your special welcome gift will be. Oops!
