As we approach the last day of the weekend for holiday shopping, I am amazed at how this year flew by but hey, I say that every year I guess. I also get a kick out of tourist and friends asking me if we celebrate Christmas (as well as other holidays) like we did in the states. Of course we do!
The island has many holiday programs like "Miracle on main street" that was just Friday, with steel drum bands spread throughout the whole downtown (my favorite part) and special shopping deals, holiday lights decorating shopping centers and even though it's still 90 degrees here, we go to the beach to soak up the sun on Christmas day! It is still funny to me that we never get out of shorts and flip flops all year long, even during the holidays! I like to make a sand snowman at the beach. If I had snow, I would make a real one, but we must use what we have right?
