You know it's the holidays when the big huge yachts start to make their way past our house to Yacht Haven Grande marina. This week we saw Eric Clapton's Yacht, the Blue Guitar getting provisions at the dock in town and yesterday both his yacht AND Larry Ellison's Yacht, the Rising Sun, sailed by our house on their way to Yacht Haven to hang out for the holidays. Boy, is the Rising Sun BIG!
Larry's Yacht is 452 feet (co-owned with David Geffen) and costs over 13 million a year just to maintain and Eric's Yacht is 102 feet and very impressive. The Rising Sun is the 6th largest Yacht in the world. Eric just bought another yacht this last year as well, called Va Bene (157 footer) after he had chartered it and fell in love with it. I wonder if he will sell the Blue Guitar then or did? hmmmm, I will have to look into that.
None the less, we love having them here in St. Thomas and maybe they will show up at the big New Year's Eve bash being throw at the marina. We can hope!
