Bling out your pets
Living on the island of St. Thomas is kind of like living on a farm because we have iguana that live in our cactus tree in the front yard, about 100 bananquit birds that I feed sugar water and give bath water to each day, a stray bush cat that adopted our house and wouldn't leave so now he is our cat and two big dogs that live with us as well. Don't forget the 1000 species of lizards that are all over and the occasional taranchula that may stop by. Sometimes I find myself humming the Old MacDonald had a farm song. I am a huge pet lover and so is most of the island with at least 1 dog, if not more living with them (or strays being fed).
Because I am a huge pet lover, I just love to make doggie and kitty signs with Woof or Meow on them. One of my blingy pet boutiques is called How Bout' Your Pet and is located in the Mega Yacht Complex here on St. Thomas called Yacht Haven Grande. They carry everything from high end pet carriers, treats, clothing, sign and artwork but they even have a doggie bakery section for special homemade treats for your pet! On Wednesday nights they have a wine party where the owners can sample wine and bring their dogs for social hour too. It's a site to see with all the dogs roaming around.
Stacy Cohen, the owner of How Bout Your Pet, has two big English Bulldogs named Willis and Monte and they are the stores mascots as well as adorn the companies logo and signs. They are so popular that they have their own brand of doggie treats for sale there too. I just love making deliveries there because I get to see them plus the manager, Jessica, also has two cool dogs of her own, named Bambi and Titus. Titus is a black pug and he has the biggest eyes which he uses quite regularly to stare at the treats in the bakery display. What a picture that is!
My Woof and Meow frames are featured at the store and bone shaped Woof signs, Wipe Your Paws and Beware of Dog signs too. People really seem to like the custom pet name signs. Of course Bambi and Titus have their own to share at the store as examples.
