Destination Weddings
I can't believe I am already taking orders for the 2010 destination wedding season already but if you think about it, there are only 14 more weekend (when most folks like to get married in the states) left in the year 2009 so 2010 is really almost here. The destination wedding season in Saint Thomas is really year round and most brides and grooms that come here to get married also stay for the remainer of the week to have their honeymoon and the families also make it into a vacation along with the wedding. What a great concept.
Destination weddings here can be done on the beach with a private ceremony, at a major hotel chain like the Marriott, Ritz or Wyndham (with folks to help you plan) and with packages that can accomodate a small group up to large, full scale weddings. Saint Thomas is so beautiful the choices are really endless with where to get married but one thing is for sure, the tropical photos will be stunning, where ever you choose.
The bonus about having a destination wedding is that you can save a lot of money (most hotels have great all inclusive type packages with the cake, photos and clergy included) and time planning (oh you have to love those wedding planners!) plus have a gorgeous place to start your first memories. Most of the people who are associated with the destination wedding field have been doing it for years and have lived on the island for a long time too. They know all the best places to get married or take photos. I have found that the major hotels only use the best and most reliable staff and vendors for the wedding day.
Here are a few shots of beach themed wedding signs that have been done for the 2010 wedding season. They are a great way to greet your guests, point them the way to the wedding (so they aren't late!) and annouce the bride and groom. They also make great bridesmaid gifts or centerpieces for your table. One of my most popular signs is a sign with the new last name of the happy couple.
I just love weddings! I wish I had these at my wedding over 10 years ago at our winery with little grapes on them!
Here are a few links to the major hotels for destination weddings (and our cake friend Stacy of Vi desserts!).
